John Salazar on Environment

Democratic Representative (CO-3)

Renewable energy resources are a part of the energy solution

We must learn to balance the development of our natural resources with the preservation of natural beauty. The plan for the Roan Plateau goes against what nearly every local elected official has asked for. Government agencies must be more responsive to local concerns. I also support the development of renewable energy resources, as it is vital to our national security. Renewable energy could also provide our farmers and ranchers with supplemental income, making them a large part of our energy solution.

Make protecting Colorado's water a top priority

As a State Legislator, farmer, and water district board member, John Salazar has fought for decades against water speculators and government policies that try to send Western Slope water to California and Denver. To save our rural water, Salazar led the fight against last year's Referendum A water bond measure and in Congress say's he will make protecting Colorado's water a top priority.
