Diplomacy is the only solution to global terrorism, and it will require many years of hard work. We must reach out and forge relationships with the countries that give rise to extremists, help them to better implement the rule of law and to foster democratic ideals, and assist them in educating their people so that the myths of extremism are unable to take root.
