Oppose free trade; support fair trade

Q: Do you support free trade?

A: Oppose. I believe in fair trade that works slowly and patiently towards free trade. We have to be very realistic about it. We can only truly have free trade with a country that has a system identical to our own. No such system exists. There are always differing hidden costs & penalties built into the systems that bias the marketplace. Consequently, we must craft our trade agreements to compensate for the respective inequalities and keep the playing field level.

Strongly support country of origin labeling

I would like to hand my children a small trade surplus, rather than the massive trade deficit we have today. Balanced trade is a sign of a healthy and sustainable economy. We need to take measures to promote fair trade and to reduce our trade deficit. Eliminating our dependence on foreign oil will clearly ease the deficit. I also strongly support country of origin labeling and the extension of country of origin requirements to meet the needs of the 21st century electronic marketplace.

Promote fair trade for balanced trade

We need to formulate and execute a long term plan to eliminate our national debt. I would like to hand a zero balance to my children. I would also like to hand them a small trade surplus, rather than the massive trade deficit we have today. Balanced trade is a sign of a healthy and sustainable economy. We need to take measures to promote fair trade and to reduce our trade deficit. I also strongly support country of origin labeling.
