The answer to Iraq is simple: let the Iraqis vote on how long they want the US to stay, then do what they say. If they vote for us to leave, then the military has a mission: within 60 days, move to friendly countries to prevent Iranian invasion until the
Iraqis can stop it on their own. If they say stay, then there is a mandate. Whether the result of this vote is a mission or a mandate, both should be executed with maximum transparency to the American people and the rest of the world.

Prisoner abuse and torture deeply shame our nation
Recent cases of prisoner abuse and the administration's failure to act on measures to eliminate torture have deeply shamed our nation. The Bill of Rights specifically prohibits the infliction of "cruel and unusual punishment". We must renounce
this downward spiral that compromises the ideals of our country. Torture is inhumane, ineffective, and jeopardizes the safety of our own military personnel. As a U.S. senator, I will initiate and support measures to eliminate torture and prisoner abuse.
