John Katko: Use military force to prevent hostile nuclear nations

Q: Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?

A: Yes.

Q: Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?

A: Yes, if needed. As a nation, we must take pause and think before using military force. However, we must project a strong military to the negative actors of the world. The use of ground troops should absolutely be the last resort. But in terms of strength of negotiation, our Commander in Chief must have all military options available to him or her in each situation.

Kirsten Gillibrand: Al Qaeda has metastasized; get troops out of Afghanistan

While Long criticized Obama for setting a 2014 withdrawal date for troops in Afghanistan, Gillibrand said she believes America should leave now.

Gillibrand said Al Quaeda has "metastasized" to other parts of the world. "I do not believe that we should continue our investment of troops, troops' lives and our money in Afghanistan because the threat has moved," she said; the US needs a "counter-terrorism approach instead of a counter insurgency approach. We need narrow targeted missions," she said.

Wendy Long: Stand with Israel in ensuring Iran does not get nukes

Referencing Wednesday's thwarted terrorist attack in New York City, Long said it's further evidence that the United States must stand with Israel in ensuring Iran does not have nuclear capabilities while Gillibrand used it to blast sequestration that would require across the board budget cuts to areas like federal anti-terror funding.

George Maragos: No military intervention in Syria; but pressure Arab League

Other strange statements included Turner commenting on the Syria crisis that we have 'yet to find out who are the bad guys'. They all advocated no military intervention, but Maragos advocated pressure on 'Russia' and the Arab League.
