Meditation ok in schools; prayer is not

Q: Do you support or oppose permitting prayer in public schools?

A: Oppose. Meditation or quiet time would be more central to personal choice.

Imperative against gender, sex, & age discrimination

We need to establish a federal mandate to ensure that discrimination is not a policy issue but an imperative so gender, sex, age and equality issues are addressed and our nation can go on to the business of building an economically strong society that puts credence into opportunity advancement.

Equal rights for same gender relationships

Whether it be same gender relationships (marriages) or issues of compensation, I am opposed to discrimination where rights are not equal given most circumstances. The strength of our American Democracy is based on its support and tolerance of differences.

Recognize civil unions; supports same-sex marriage

Q: Should Rhode Island recognize civil unions between same-sex couples?

A: Yes.

Q: Should Rhode Island restrict marriage to a union only between a man and a woman?

A: No. Furthermore, the issue of religion obfuscates the rights and freedom of choice between consenting adults in violation of church and state. Property rights need to be equitable for all.
