Nick Carter on Social Security
Democratic Senate Challenger
A: Yes. If mistakes have been made that are causing an inequitable result in the distribution of Social Security benefits then we need to address that immediately.
A: Yes. The COLA should reflect the demographic it is meant to serve. It makes little sense to base the Social Security COLA on the CPI-W.
A: The single greatest action we can take for comprehensive Social Security Reform is to ensure that attempts to privatize Social Security are thwarted. Social Security is a contract between the government and its citizens. Handing our most vital social safety net program over to private interests who seek to profit from it is a mistake. We can and will ensure the solvency of Social Security without privatization.
A: Do not support. We should not gamble with the most successful social program in history.
